How to sell on Vinted: the complete step-by-step tutorial

Selling on Vinted takes four steps: list the item, ship it within 5 business days with the prepaid label once it sells, wait for the order to be completed, then withdraw the money to your bank account. Vinted charges private sellers no selling fees.

In short

  • Listing is free and unlimited: no selling fees for private sellers.
  • A listing = photos, title, description, category, brand, size, condition and price.
  • Once sold: prepaid label in the conversation and by email, ship within 5 business days.
  • Order completed = money available within 2 days in your Vinted Balance.
  • Withdrawing to your bank can take up to 5 business days.

Step 1: set up your profile

  • Add a profile picture and verify your account: Vinted recommends it to reassure buyers.
  • Write two lines in “About”: what you sell and how fast you ship.
  • Pick your shipping options: the more you offer, the more buyers can order.

Step 2: list your item

  1. Photos: the first shows the whole item, in daylight, no collage. Add the label, details and flaws (up to 20 photos). See Vinted photos.
  2. Title: brand + type + model + colour + size. See Title and description.
  3. Description: real condition, flaws, measurements, material.
  4. Category, brand, size, condition, colour, material: fill in everything, they are the buyers’ filters.
  5. Price: look at the same item in the same condition. See How to price.

Step 3: it sold, ship it

  • You get a prepaid shipping label, in the conversation with the buyer and by email. You don’t pay for shipping: the buyer does.
  • Pack the item securely, then use that order’s label with the shipping option the buyer chose.
  • Ship within 5 business days of the purchase. Otherwise the order is cancelled automatically and the buyer refunded. You can ask the buyer for an extension, which they can accept or refuse.
  • Photograph the item and the parcel (inside and out) before shipping: if something goes wrong, it speeds everything up.
  • For your first sale, activate your Vinted Balance to receive the payment.

Step 4: get your money

  • The order is completed when everything is OK (or when a reported issue is resolved).
  • Your payment then arrives within 2 days: it moves from “Pending balance” to “Available balance”.
  • You can spend it on Vinted or withdraw it to your bank account, which can take up to 5 business days.
  • Leave feedback for the buyer: it builds trust on your profile.

Beginner mistakes

  • Leaving Vinted to chat or pay: Vinted recommends always staying on the platform, that’s what protects you.
  • Leaving fields empty: the item won’t show up in filters.
  • Forgetting a flaw: the buyer can request a return if the item is significantly different from the listing.
  • Missing the 5-business-day deadline: the sale is cancelled.
